Airbrush make-up uses the power of compressed air to gently spray a fine mist of foundation onto the face or other parts of the body.  It is often used in Bridal Make-up, as it gives a natural and smooth finish and is long-lasting.  Airbrush is also recommended for skin concerns like acne, rosacea, redness, as it gives coverage without looking cakey.

Airbrush make-up is included in wedding day make-up for the Bride.  Brands used are Temptu Silicone-Based (dewy finish) and Temptu Perfect Canvas (semi-matte).

If you do decide to book and should you need to postpone your plans due to COVID-19, hopefully I will be available on the new date and the services booked would apply to the new date.

If I am unavailable for the new date or if you happen to cancel your wedding due to COVID-19 restrictions, you can use the amount of the non-refundable retainer as a credit for future make-up/hair services to be used within two years of the original booked date.

Please note to secure your booking, I do require that a signed contract and a 35% non-refundable retainer be returned to me.

Eyelashes are a personal choice, but I do always suggest them as they add emphasis without looking like obvious colour make-up.  For instance, eyeshadow, eyeliner – any colour make-up can sometimes look and feel like a lot when all put together (especially for any make-up minimalists out there!).  Adding eyelashes adds a little hint of something and makes eyes pop, but doesn’t look like you’re wearing too much (well, as long as we stick to a believable length!).

I offer full strip lashes, individual lashes and mink lashes.  Individual lashes look the most natural and can be a great option for those who wear glasses.  Mink lashes are included as the default for a Bride’s wedding day make-up application.

Make-up Appointment
Wash and moisturize doing your normal routine.  Avoid wearing any make-up before your appointment.

Hair Appointment
Wash your hair the night before your appointment using shampoo but skipping conditioner [conditioner can interfere with heat styling tools and/or products used for styling].

Blow dry or air dry fully before going to bed [please do not sleep on wet hair].  Hair should be completely dry upon arrival to your appointment.

Please visit my @beautybyartistrhi account on Instagram and view the “COVID PREP” highlight to see the changes made to my kit and practices, in order to mitigate risk of COVID-19.

Some key updates during this time:

  • artists must wear masks and goggles / face shield
  • clients are encouraged and asked to wear masks for all services until requested otherwise by artist
  • each client will have a dedicated set of brushes
  • disposables used for eyes and lip brushes
  • many products have been decanted and transferred to smaller plastic containers that are easier and more efficient to clean, disinfect

A document regarding COVID-19 safety guidelines and best practices will be emailed to you in advance of your appointment.

Please note as careful as we are, there is always risk.  I cannot guarantee that these practices eliminate 100% risk.  By booking and receiving services, you agree that you understand this and accept that I (and my associates) will not be held liable for any outcomes associated with this risk.  Please stay safe and  continue to follow any government and public health guidance as well.

Bridal

To secure your wedding date, a signed contract and non-refundable retainer must be received.  The non-refundable retainer is 35% of Total Wedding Day Services.

The remainder of payment is due 7 business days prior to the date of your event.

All inquiries are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  You will have 24 hours from when you first receive the contract to secure the booking by returning both the signed contract and non-refundable retainer.

Make-up and/or hair trials are not required, but are highly recommended.  The trial allows you the opportunity to test run a couple of looks you may be interested in (as the trial time limit of 90 minutes permits).  You can also how the look wears throughout the day and what tweaks or adjustments need to be communicated back to me.

It also allows us time to get to know each other better, as on a wedding day, the schedule can be a bit more hectic.

Lastly, doing a trial helps you to know what to expect in terms of the look for the wedding day, as with that same hectic schedule, there is not much room for surprises … and with all the planning that has been done, a bride understandably wants to know what to expect!

Where possible, I always recommend that you coordinate your trials with either your engagement shoot, your dress fitting, your bridal shower or some other event where you want to feel a little more fancy!  That way you can see how the look wears, get feedback from those around you and even see how the look will register in professional photos.

Please feel free to send me any inspiration pics or add me to any Pinterest boards.  Inspiration pics can range from looks that you like on celebs or models, to pics that you have of yourself where you like your make-up (and/or even pics where you don’t like your make-up!).  The more info I have in advance of our appointment, the better!

For skincare tips and recommended products to use leading up to the Big Day, please feel free to contact me for some suggestions.  Generally, a consistent daily routine of using a cleanser, moisturizer and SPF product (of at least SPF 30) will do your skin good.
